Bartók's use of Percussion
- Son = Sonata for two Pianos and Percussion
- Con = Concerto for Orchestra
- Mus = Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta
- WP = Wooden Prince
- MM = Miraculous Mandarin
- BC = Bluebeards Castle
- P1-P3 = Piano Concertos 1-3
- DS = Dance Suite
- S1, S2 = Suite 1 & 2
- Kos = Kossuth
Bartók never uses double occupied percussion instruments (like Mahler and Stravinsky). Very often Bartók has one player perform on many instruments. This cannot be deducted from the table.
Note the use of a Keyboard Xylophone (Xilofono a Tastiera) in Bluebeard!
A very rare instrument nowadays!
